St George's Day
Annual event in April. The life of England's patron saint, shrouded in legend, is celebrated each year in the historic town of Salisbury with street theatre, pageantry, dancing, wandering minstrels and ferocious dragons!

Annual event May-June. The Festival Themes for 2009 are: a cultural theme of India, the elemental theme of Water and Devotion.

You can visit any individual site, we can tailor a tour to your own requirements or you can take one of our special full day trips.

All full tours start at approximately 09.00 and finish at approximately 16.30 and include light refreshment.

Move to Winchester to the Cathedral where Jane is buried.

Drive to Chawton, the family house where Jane moved to from Portsmouth.

Leave Chawton and drive to Portsmouth to visit the birthplace of Dickens.

Thomas Hardy Country

Travel to Higher Bockhampton birthplace and home to Thomas Hardy until the age of 34.

Visit Max Gate, Hardy's final home.

On to Dorset County Museum, housing a collection of Hardy memorabilia.

Visit Stinsford where it is rumoured Hardy's heart is buried with his wife.
